TESTIMONIALS
As you know we have used the
original Port-OP III in several different situations. We started using the
M-DEC portable equipment in 1988-1989. Our first overseas trip was to the Caribbean
Islands of Barbados, then to St. Vincent. The equipment handled every
situation wonderfully. We saw an average of 50 to 100 patients
per day depending on the load of extractions versus the restorative. Now with
the improved suction it is even better.
We are so pleased with the
ability of the M-DEC equipment to be transported on the airlines that Dr.
Howard Lilly purchased a second unit for our Missionary Venture Hospital in
Nebaj, Guatemala. That unit is always the most popular among those dentists
going to remote villages. Our electric generator allows us to do dentistry
almost anywhere.
I will be sending the new X-Ray
in for the next update on the fuses as soon as I can spare time. It is
amazing how you are able to continually update these systems and improve them.
Your willingness to stand behind your equipment is commendable as well as
amazing.

In response to your inquiry about my level of satisfaction with the
MDEC portable dental equipment, I am happy to report that it is still
functioning fully after two and half years of regular use. I first purchased the
equipment to deliver mobile dental services to residents of long term care
facilities here in the lower mainland of British Columbia. I now have a couple
of other part-time dentists using it to provide similar services.
The equipment has held up well with multiple users, and has been
responsible for the delivery of much needed on-site dental services. My two
associates are female, and they still seem able to manage the movement of this
equipment from one spot to another.
I would therefore endorse the friendliness and usefulness of the
equipment, and would suggest that anyone interested in delivering mobile dental
services consider this system. It has worked well for me for several years,
with little upkeep or maintenance needed. Given its reasonable cost and
all-inclusive design in terms of usefulness, I would strongly recommend it.

I am writing to you to express
how pleased we are with your Port OP dental unit.
We have sent ours all over the
western hemisphere on a number of missions outside the United States and it has
operated more than satisfactorily wherever we have taken it. Most of the trips
were by different dentists and it performed well for each of them.
In addition to our short term
missions, it was used daily for nearly a year in Sierra Leone, West Africa as
the only dental unit for a missionary dentist there. He gave me a highly
enthusiastic report on its performance when he returned.
Its many functions make it
ideal for clinic use and the sheet steel construction makes for outstanding durability,
which is very important in our profession. Your dedication to steady
improvement is also reassuring.
We own several different dental
units by other manufactures and yours is head and shoulders above them all in
both performance and versatility.
You are to be congratulated for
making a high quality dental unit, which is truly unique in its field.

Through my working in the Department of Applied Dentistry at
the University of Colorado School of Dentistry, I have had the opportunity to
use most of the available portable dental operatories. In 1987, I wrote an
article comparing the units available. In preparation for that article we
compared the units for design, durability, suitability to intent use and safety
for patient and operator. Since it is my understanding that the reason for this
letter is to help address the issue of safety as it relates to the Port OP
portable dental operatory, the fat that the Port- Op was the best design,
most durable, and best suited for its intended use in incidental.
Concerning the issue of safety the Port Op was the only
unit that filtered the suction air before it was exhausted. The other units tested used a venturi vacuum
system, which has no filtration of the air coming out of the vacuum reservoir
(containing blood, saliva etc). Since this reservoir is located right next to
the operator on the portable system, it represents a considerable source of
contamination to the entire area in which is located.
The Port-Op by design only allows use of the air for any
purpose after it has been pre-filtered, dried and final filtered to 0.01 micron
particle size. This traps all possible contaminants within the system. Even when the filters are contaminated, the exhaust
air remains clean but diminished, indicating to the user the necessity of
filter element replacement.
It is my belief therefore that the Port Op is certainly safe
enough to be used on high risk
patients. This is not only for the patient’s safety, but that of the operator
and staff as well.
I have now had years of experience with the Port Op. The
unit Continues to perform as well as or better than originally expected.

I leased the PORT OP II with
X-Ray from the Mobile Dental Equipment Corp and am pleased to inform you that
my venture with mobile dental practice has been successful.
I work 2 days a week with the
equipment at nursing homes. The equipment has proven to be most reliable and
functional. I have had no break-downs nor needed repair of any kind.
I have been most pleased in
doing business with your company. Not only for the quality of the equipment
you manufacture, but also the assistance you have given me with developing my mobile
practice.
With this I would encourage any
Dentist who is considering treating
patients in a nursing home or those who are homebound to invest in the PORT OP
II.

I have been practicing mobile
dentistry in Austin, Texas for the past 15 months using the PORT OP II unit,
instrument case and cart, which I purchased from M-Dec.
Currently, I am practicing
mobile dentistry 3 days a week. I typically treat patients in nursing homes and
retirement facilities, and patients that are homebound.
The equipment has performed trouble
free, and M-Dec representative Allen Visnick, has been in touch every few
months to see how my practice was progressing, and how the Port OP II was
performing.

I always had envisioned being able to dentally serve the
portion of our population who were not able to go to a dental office.
A number of years ago I started to hire young dentists to
help me in my own dental office,
and five years ago I was lucky enough to find two young dentists who
shared my philosophies and wanted
to join my practice permanently.
My research in the area of mobile dentistry lead me to Dr.
Peter Moore of Bellevue, Washington, who had at that time been servicing his
community with mobile dental units for about seven years.
After viewing the tape Dr. Moore sent me, I decided to buy
his system, and try to develop a mobile dental service here in my city of
Buffalo, New York.
At this point we have only been out in the field for eight
months, and our service has been well accepted wherever we have been.
According to our operator Dr. Nowak, “ Dr. Moore’s
equipment is an absolute delight, and incredibly ingenious”.
It has been a pleasure to do business with Dr. Moore.
